It's pegasus!  The composition (including a "tilted" fence) and wide aperture give this a gently dynamic feeling; the wooden figure really seems to be moving through the air.

Thanks. The wings do spin when the wind picks up. Need to get him (her?) some new tail-feathers.

Love the focus and the softness of the background against the roughness of the wood. As for Pogopuggy's comment, I believe artists release a lot through their art, and enable their viewers to get in touch with their own emotions.

Thanks, Alexandra. For me, other that being something nifty that caught my eye to finish the roll, it is an image of thankful remembering.

Another welcome image, but what's more interesting is how we knew it was yours immediately.

So much of your work feels so lonely. I stare into them and there's a deep sorrow.

I don't know if that's intentional, but it's not something I see most people try to achieve actually manage.

Interesting reaction, Rebecca. I suspect it is the feeling of time passing, of mortality. Vernon died in 2001. At 66, I figure I have twenty years or so. You have a few more than that, we expect and pray. Pancreatic cancer took my dear sister-in-law Shirlee in 2014. All of that is sad. Yet I smile as I give thanks for their lives. I loved each of them dearly. I am a better person for having known them.

And there certainly is a timeless quality about these simple black and white film photographs. I call my Argus C3 my time machine. The Yashica-D I used for this photo is a bit more recent, but it's still been out of production for some fifty years.

So, love life and do not fear death. May the world be a better place for your having been here.

Blessings,
Steve

Beautifully focused. I like to see the wood texture, so clearly.

Nice one!
I like the out of focus background very much, but most of all the horse itself. I can remember making these things with my dad; good old days, :).
