But it wanted to fly . . .
I don't know either.
A happy birthday to eldest offspring Lanse ~Spielorjh.
Thirty three years ago, Saturday, June 14 was Lanse's due date. I really hoped he would manage to come on time, as I was scheduled to march in a parade for the US Army's 200th birthday. Well, he didn't, and I did.
Sunday, June 15, was Fathers' Day, so that was spoken for.
Monday, June 16, was my 25th birthday. One can't have two birthdays on the same day, y'know.
Tuesday, June 17, was finally an open date, so Lanse deigned to make his appearance.
Lanse is strange, but he comes by it honestly.
Feel free to use any of my waterscape or landscape photographs as stock images. I ask only that you let me know, and that you post a link to the original.
The Heidelberg Catechism, published in 1563, remains one of the warmest expressions of the Christian faith ever written. This is how it begins.
What is your only comfort in life and in death?
That I am not my own,
but belong --
body and soul,
in life and in death --
to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.
He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood,
and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.
He also watches over me in such a way
that not a hair can fall from my head
without the will of my Father in heaven;
in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.
Because I belong to him,
Christ, by his Holy Spirit,
assures me of eternal life
and makes me wholeheartedly will and ready
from now on to live for him.
