The latest is that it seems that our would-be buyers got their mortgage application declined two days ago, a week and a half before they were supposed to close. So we're not quite sure what we're up to now, other than rearranging things so we can move boxes out of the main living areas and make the place presentable for putting back on the market.
Or, so we think right now. That could all change tomorrow or the next day. Life is full of surprises.
On the other hand, I said last year that all I wanted for Christmas 2011 was my sister-in-law, Shirlee, still alive. When we were out there for Thanksgiving, she was looking remarkably healthy for someone who had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two years prior.
So, all in all, it's been a very good year. Thanks be to God.
I wish you all a blessed and prosperous 2012. Thanks for helping make dA the crazy wonderful place it it.
Steve

The Heidelberg Catechism, published in 1563, remains one of the warmest expressions of the Christian faith ever written. This is how it begins.
What is your only comfort in life and in death?
That I am not my own,
but belong --
body and soul,
in life and in death --
to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.
He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood,
and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.
He also watches over me in such a way
that not a hair can fall from my head
without the will of my Father in heaven;
in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.
Because I belong to him,
Christ, by his Holy Spirit,
assures me of eternal life
and makes me wholeheartedly will and ready
from now on to live for him.
