House!!

Fri Dec 2, 2011, 1:32 PM
It's still all verbal between Realtors, but we just accepted the seller's counter to our offer.  Yay!!!

Phooey.  They got another, higher, offer, so scratch that one.  We just gave the Realtor the go-ahead to submit the offer on our "other first choice".  Thankfully, the paperwork was all set and ready to go.

Selling and buying houses is more fun than ought to be allowed.

We put in an offer on a new (to us) house this afternoon.  Yay, us!

Feel free to use any of my waterscape or landscape photographs as stock images. I ask only that you let me know, and that you post a link to the original.

The Heidelberg Catechism, published in 1563, remains one of the warmest expressions of the Christian faith ever written. This is how it begins.
What is your only comfort in life and in death?

That I am not my own,
but belong --
     body and soul,
in life and in death --
to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.

He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood,
and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.
He also watches over me in such a way
that not a hair can fall from my head
          without the will of my Father in heaven;
in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.

Because I belong to him,
Christ, by his Holy Spirit,
assures me of eternal life
and makes me wholeheartedly will and ready
from now on to live for him.

I remember when I was first looking to buy a house...I looked at so many and put bids on so many, and they all feel through...I became so disenchanted...then our house came along, but I did not want it...still I have been here 16 years. I still do not feel at home in it, never have. Weird...

But my kids love this house...so it is home to them, though only one still lives here.

But I hope someday to sell it and to find that perfect little house that feels like home....

I am hoping that the one that come through for you ...feels perfect.

You've sort of described the place we're in now. It's been a good home for 22 years, but it's always felt vaguely like someone else's house. If this offer falls through, we'll rent for a while, since nothing else has caught our eye the same. We would not be able to turn anything else around in time. And renting wouldn't be the worst option by a long shot.
