this journal - First and foremost, we just got a note from my sister-in-law saying her oncologist has taken her off chemo, at least until July. Twenty-nine months ago Shirlee was diagnosed with acute pancreatic cancer and given not very long to live. The last three PET scans have shown no activity at all from the tumor. Shirlee has gained back the weight she lost and is feeling very much alive and well. Hallelujah!!
- Late this afternoon we accepted an offer on our house. Woot!! You may remember that our previous deal died the end of December when our would-be buyers finally got their mortgage application declined. This whole deal has a much better smell to it.
- Tuesday evening I was down at Washington Square Park for Occupy Rochester's May Day events. I ate their pizza, dropped some money in the kitty, and shot two rolls of Portra 400. I dropped off the film yesterday morning and picked up the scans on the way home from work before I
- drove to Sacred Heart Cathedral for Benton Blasingame's Eastman School of Music senior organ recital. Benton did a superb job. I got there early so I could get close in for photos while he was practicing. I shot three rolls of 400 TMax. I'll develop them Saturday. I got to meet his parents, which was very cool. I've been Bonnie Blasingame's photographer-spy for the last almost four years. I put together an album of twenty 8x8 prints of photos I've taken of Benton, and had it on display. It was very well received. Bonnie threatened to start crying. Benton's last Sunday as our church organist is the 13th. I'll let him and his mom fight over the album.
- Last, and in the grand scheme of things, least, my Holga pinhole camera arrived today, and promptly got put into service. I've been wanting to try some pinhole work, and freestylephoto.biz had a US$15 special on the Holga. I had to order film anyway...
